Let it be known that I was not that big of a fan of this guy, however if you can get him early enough he can fit into your deck. I am also very partial toward monoblack (or black with fireball splash) in this format. If you can cut black hard enough cards like Tendrils will make it too you very late in pack three.

If I was planning on playing more than a few mountains, the Capricious Efreet would have been put right into my pile. The Efreet has always been good to me and my opponents.
Pack 2 pick 2:

My Pick:

I really dislike Nantuko Husk in this format, but he is a Vampire.

Probabaly should have went with the Tutor. However it would turn out that none of these would have made the final cut.

Round 1:
G1: Black Knight on two. Draw two on three. Vampire Nocturnus on 4. Fly in on 5. Play Child of Night. Flip black card and fly in for the win.
G2: This one was close. I didn’t get a relevant guy down until turn 5. He had some tricks and removal, but a timely Tendrils kept me in the game. Also I kept up by Rising my Gravedigger from the Grave (he brought his friend Looming shade back to the party). My opponent had a Prized Unicorn and Stampeding Rhino in play. I take him to 13 with a shade. Play down Child and Howling Banshee to go with my gravedigger. He is on 10, I am on 9. He plays Awakener Druid. Ships with his squad, putting me to 3, taking out the Child of the Night. I send a lethal attack forcing Awakener Druid to leave the party. I sit at 3 with Gravedigger untapped and Swamp in hand, but he draws a blank and scoops. No X spells for me in round one.
Round 2:
G1: Children and their Daddy + Revealing Tendrils!
G2: My opponent ran out Awakener Druid on three, animating his only forest. ASSASSINATE!!! (Daaaad, there’s poop in my FANNY PACK!) He never played another Forest. He made me work for it, but I had Black Knight, he had plains. I had two looming shades, he had none. This little piggy had roast beef.
Round 3:
G1: He was at 14. So I fireballed him for 7… TWICE!
G2: Got too greedy with earthquake. He also played, and regrew, an Ant Queen this game. I could have drawn the game with Earthquake at one point, but I decided to play for the win and came up short.
G3: I got to ‘clasm two of his men away on turn 5 and ship with a fully aroused Vampire Nocturnus. I pressed my advantage with a Child and a pair of Looming Shades. On of the Shades got pumped to 7/7 when a Oakenformed Giant Spider got in the way and my other Shade perished (he was gravedugg later). He eventually got to UU and Mind Controlled my Vampire. I got him to 7 with my second Shade before he Mind Controlled it as well. I knew he had both Essence Scatter and Negate in his deck, but with the Vampire Still playing for my team, by showing me everyone of his draws, I was able to wait for the coast to clear before fireballing him for 7 once more.
What a rediculous deck I had. I am sure I pissed off some of my opponents. 4x X Spells. Vampire on turn 4 many games, with Child already to go. Assassinating Forests that never attacked. I had it all. This deck was just stupid good.
